Energy Performance in Buildings Directive (EPBD)

The Energy Performance in Buildings Directive is one initiative that has been introduced by Government in England and Wales to improve the energy efficiency of our buildings. The initiative is made up of three elements, all of which Clouds are able to provide:

  • Display Energy Certificates (DECs) for all publically owned buildings over 1,000m². Please visit our energy certificate micro-site for more detailed information on DECs.
  • Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for all commercial properties when constructed, rented or sold. Please visit our energy certificate micro-site for more detailed information on EPCs.
  • Air Conditioning (AC) Inspections for all systems with an effective rated output above 12kW. Please visit our AC inspection micro-site for more detailed information.

The Carbon Reduction Commitment energy efficiency scheme

The CRC is a mandatory trading emissions scheme that starts in April 2010. It applies to organisations consuming over 6000MWh electricity a year. If you are not sure, call now for a free consultation.

The European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS)

In January 2005 the European Union Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading System (EU ETS) commenced operation as the largest multi-country, multi-sector Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading System world-wide. Under the EU ETS, large emitters of carbon dioxide within the EU must monitor and annually report their CO2 emissions, and they are obliged every year to return an amount of emission allowances to the government that is equivalent to their CO2 emissions in that year.
